I started taking photos around 2011 using an old Canon EOS 50E 35mm SLR that belonged to my late grandpa. When he bought it in 1994, it was a beautiful camera. To me, it still is.
Over the years, I’ve picked up and put down photography as a hobby. That was until 2020 and the advent of the Covid pandemic. I’d recently bought one of my dream cameras (a Nikon D850) and when lockdown was announced, I set myself a challenge; A photo a day for the duration of lockdown. This became known as my #lockdowndaily project, and pushed me to try different styles of images and editing. Living alone and working from home at the time, this involved Wallace and Gromit figurines, food and bad self portraits.
Over the last couple of years, I’ve transitioned to working with other people. I found this to tick way more boxes in my brain than landscapes or figurines. I love capturing people in a way that’s authentic to them, rather than forcing them to conform to my “style” (whatever my “style” is).
Photography has allowed me to meet and work with a huge range of wonderful people, and given me experiences I never thought I’d have. If you’d like to work with me, please feel free to get in touch with your ideas!
